At this point in my life I enjoy studying the human figure. I find drawing and painting the human body to be a journey into shapes and color. When I look at a pose I think of what colors would go with that pose. I am not trying to paint a realistic person. The pose tells me what direction I will take with the colors I have.
Making art is a time of rest for me. I let my mind focus on what I am doing and my everyday problems are put on hold while I am working on my art. I started drawing as a child making doodles when I wanted to escape the things around me. In college I thought of art as a pleasure and not something I would do to earn money. I stopped doing art and concentrated on making a living. I rediscovered my talent again later in life. I am now letting my pleasure make a living for me.
